Review: The Iconic & Fishpond (Spurr Shoes & Attack on Titan)

Got into a bit of a spending spree due to some sales and great bargains on http://www.theiconic.com.au and http://www.fishpond.com.au both amazing websites with a vast array of items. The Iconic is a great site that supports and holds a lot of exclusive brands only available on the webside, such as Spurr.

Spurr is a fantastic shoe brand that I have never purchased/owned a pair before, but seeing the cute and amazing cuts and types of shoes they sell. I decided to take the plunge and buy a few pairs. When I did find the two I ended up buying, I didn't realise they were from the same brand. Only that they look cool and were exactly what I was looking for. When I received them I was more than pleased with the quality and sturdiness. More details on my experience and the shoes in the video below.

As for Fishpond, it claims to be the cheaper and better version of Amazon. Considering that a lot of the stores on Amazon don't ship to Australia, I am willing to accept that title. Recently I got into (like really obsessive into) Attack On Titan, and can you blame me? That anime is AH-FREAKING-MAZING!! So I decided to start up a manga collection and try to get ahead of the show, seeing as the next season won't be out for at least a year or more. And again, I will go into more detail in the video below.

Healthy Paleo Mini-Cupcakes

Eating healthy isn't always the easiest thing in the world. But with some simple substitution and great recipes that a child could follow, eating clean and well is less of a challenge. Today I am sharing with you my recipe for some great Paleo Mini cupcakes. You can also use this for a cake, cake pops and muffins, the cooking time is probably the only thing that needs to be changed. Experimenting is always the best part of cooking/baking.

These are great for a high tea, a little coffee snack and a scrumptious guilt free alternative.

Recipe Time!!

Makes: 22 mini cupcakes Sugar/Gluten/Wheat/Dairy/Preservative Free

Ingredients

1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1/2 Cup Coconut Flour (or banana flour if your have a coconut allergy)

1/4 tsp Fine Sea Salt

1/2 Cup Agave Nectar (Light or Dark, doesn't really matter)

4 Large Eggs

2 tbsp milk (or milk substitute like Almond or Soy milk)

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/3 Cup Coconut Oil

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Step 1

In a large bowl mix together all the dry ingredients - coconut flour, baking powder and salt.

Step 2

Measure your coconut oil, it needs to be a liquid so microwave it for a few seconds if it is a solid at room temp.

Step 3

Now add the wet ingredients - 4 large eggs, agave nectar, milk and vanilla extract. Give it a stir and add the coconut oil. Whisk all the ingredients together until there are no lumps.

Step 4

The mixture will start to get harder to stir, as the liquids are absorbed into the coconut flour. Stop stirring to avoid a a tough mixture.

Step 5

grease your baking tray/mini cupcake tin/whatever you're using. Scoop you mixture into each mold. The Mixture is very reminiscent of wet cookie dough.

Step 6

When all the mixture is scooped, place try into the oven for 18-22 mins, depending on your oven.

^*Note*If you used the Dark agave nectar, your mini cupcakes will have a darker look and when cooked the base will caramelise a bit more, so keep an eye from the 18 min mark to make sure they don't burn.

Google some Paleo frosting recipes that work for you, there are a lot!! or you can eat as is with fruit or yoghurt. They are Delicious straight out of the oven or when cool. It is your personal preference!!

Cake Pop Alternative

If you're planning to use this recipe for cake pops, just use a cake pop mould. Just keep in mind, these aren't going to be perfectly round, unless you really pile in the mixture as they don't rise as much as traditional recipes.

Step 7

When cool, get your melted chocolates or candy melts (The only unhealthy part) and dip your sticks into it and into the middle of the cake 2/3 of the way through the cake pop. Do that for all and leave for the stick to set. You can pop them into the freezer for a faster result.

Step 8

When all the sticks are securely set into the cake pop, thin your candy melt/chocolate with some coconut oil. Add small amounts at a time and DO NOT STIR TOO MUCH!! you can change the chemical and physical structure of the melts and make it go hard and globby.

Recipe: Lemon Pepper Wrap Chips (Super Easy Mode)

So when you're out of chips and need something for dipping, antipasto or just on their own. They are a healthier alternative to corn chips and the sort as you control the salt and seasoning amounts. You can also choose wholegrain wraps as the base or gluten free or whatever tickles your fancy.

So I shall begin on what I love to use to make my own wrap chips.

Ingredients:

- 2 pieces of garlic and herb wrap bread. (I used the brand: Mission Zesty Garlic and Herb).

- Butter or Margarine for spreading

- salt flakes

- lemon pepper

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180deg C
butter the entire surface of the wraps
sprinkle the salt flakes and the lemon pepper all over the surface
then cut the wrap into pieces and lay them out on a baking sheet
place them in the oven for 15mins or until golden brown. (I like them when they are alittle bit undercooked so I take them out just as they have browned.)

And viola, you have tasty, easy and healthy chips for whatever the occasion.

You can get creative, add some grated parmesan, or other sorts of cheese, add some chives. Again, get creative!!

Thrift/Op Shop Haul

So well since my last post I kinda was sick..like everywhere... (Sorry about that image)...~~(not sorry)~~ I have a sneaky suspicion it might be the combination of scents at my work place. I work in a retail store with a lot of incense and dyed clothing. But enough about that and onto the post I have been meaning to create for a long time.

I also got some sale items from my favourite stationary store, Typo. Which is AMAZING! I love that store ~~(I just jizzed my pants)~~

Let's start with the Op Shop stuffs.

When I saw this I was a little like 'meh' but then I thought, HEY! I can make this into a little DIY project. At the moment I have done some renovations to this, it's not finished yet. But I will do a post on that later on.

And this game here, Bioshock, is amazing! So it was about time that I got something in my room that reflected that. This was also pretty heavy for a small figure. ~~(Still f**king amazing).~~

How To: Survive Boxing Day Shopping (Or shopping in general)

Hello my little french fries...I WILL EAT YOU. *shifty eyes*

So yesterday I went Boxing Day shopping in my hometown (you're already glaring at your screen with "mistake" in your eyes) but yes I did it. I left my house, way later than when the shops opened and attempted to go shopping. Now, if you're like me and you hate a majority of mankind because they don't know the concept of common sense or intelligence, than you probably had as much fun as I did. So I did managed to get some items that I am excited I got etc etc but one thing stuck in my mind. Everyone needs a tip guide. So I thought up of 10 things that would have made my shopping experience much more enjoyable and I hope these help you too! So when I got home from spending my xmas money, I immediately wrote down some thoughts and made a video of HOW TO SURVIVE BOXING DAY SHOPPING. This also applies to any other big sales and shopping days or even just shopping in general. These are 10 things that need to be said and spread so, if these strike a chord with you, I'd love for you to share it around or even sub to my channel. :)

ReVamp! and Updates!!

Oh....Hey there! How's things with you malovely?? Things are alright my end. Just a lot of organising of my social mediums. I have revamped both of my channels' backgrounds (links here and here) and sort of created a better tag for my videos just for people to get what I do. I have also revamped my tumblr, and as you can see at the moment, my blog. Something a bit more colourful, exciting and fresh.

So as Christmas draws closer, along with the year, I have become a lot more passionate and determined to make my online presence known. I have worked my butt off to get things in some sort of order in the hopes that people can come and join me on my life's journey. Through my awkwardisims, and silliness, building a community for more people like me to have a good time (maybe at my expense with my experiences) but it's all in good jest.... HA! Jest...Get it?? my channels?? anyway. I like that reference. IT IS MINE...mwahah

Anyway, let's get off that crazy train before I go down more tangents until it is a paradox of tangents...I think I just went there. God Dammit.

So with the update of my interweb things, I have decided on the set schedule of gaming vids monday and friday and an awkward vlog on Tuesdays every week on my Jest Tracy channel (jest in style) I will make another day for beauty and style vids when I figure out what day that will be.

In some other news....I GOT MY CAMERA!!!! My Canon 600D has arrived and I love it. I call him Winston. It was a tie between Winston and Mordecai, but I thought he looks like Winston. So I have been testing him out with the transition of my bedroom redecoration. (Work In Progress) But I thought I'd show you what items make up my room!.
